Code of Conduct

As part of CSBA’s work, CSBA host a variety of events that bring together school governing boards, elected officials, and other community members, to discuss and advocate for effective policies that advance the education and well-being of California students. CSBA goal is to create event environments that are collaborative, inclusive, and conducive to a professional conference experience. Conduct that is disruptive, unprofessional, or otherwise inconsistent with those aims, as determined by CSBA in its sole discretion, is not permitted.

Accordingly, CSBA has adopted this Code of Conduct to help foster a collaborative, supportive and professional environment at CSBA events, free of intimidation, hostility, or discrimination, where individuals from a diversity of backgrounds and with a diversity or perspective can work together effectively and professionally. Specially, this includes, but is not limited to, conduct involving discrimination or harassment on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, sexual orientation, gender expression or gender identity, age, disability, veteran or marital status, political affiliation, or any other classification protected by law.

Accordingly, this Code of Conduct applies to all CSBA events and gatherings, including but not limited to, conference spaces, including meeting rooms, exhibit areas, networking events, receptions, transportation provided by CSBA, and official event platforms or mobile applications (“Events”). All (“Attendees”) at CSBA Events must abide by this Code of Conduct.

Unauthorized Advertising and Distribution of Materials

To maintain the integrity and focus of the event, all forms of advertising, solicitations, or distribution of materials by Attendees outside of approved exhibit spaces is strictly prohibited without prior written approval from the CSBA’s Event organizers. This includes, but is not limited to, distributing flyers, brochures, promotional items, or digital media. Any unapproved activities may result in removal from the Event without refund and potential exclusion from future Events. For any questions or to request permission for specific uses, please contact aec@csba.org.

Photographing, Recording, Streaming and Distribution

To protect the intellectual property and privacy of presenters and other Attendees, recording, streaming, or broadcasting at any Events is prohibited without the prior written consent of CSBA. This prohibition applies to all Event activities, including but not limited to, conference sessions, keynote presentations, breakout sessions, meal functions, receptions, and networking activities.

Photography is permitted only in general public areas, unless otherwise posted. Recording presenters, presentation materials, or slides is strictly prohibited.

Posting or distributing any recorded content or session materials, including on social media, messaging apps, or other online digital spaces, without prior written consent from CSBA is strictly prohibited. Violations of these prohibitions on recording may result in immediate removal from the Event without a refund, potential exclusion from future Events, and, if necessary, legal action. For any questions or to request permission for specific uses, please contact aec@csba.org.
